Student Certification

The Blair Student Certification serves to confirm that the student understands the basic concepts and theories of the Blair Technique by virtue of passing the testing procedures established by the Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic Society Inc, 501c3.

Blair Student Certification Prerequisites

  1. Be a student actively enrolled in an accredited Chiropractic College.
  2. Be a student member of the Blair Chiropractic Membership Association
  3. Attendance of at least one Primary Blair Technique seminar series given by a Certified Blair Instructor or attendance of an approved Blair elective course.

Blair Student Certification Application Process

  1. The request for Blair Student certification should be submitted to the Director of Certification and Instruction of the Blair Chiropractic Membership Association via email: admin@blairchiropractic.com.
  2. Submission of Certificate of Attendance to either a Blair Primary or an approved Blair elective course.
  3. There is no fee for Blair Student Certification.

Blair Student Certification Multiple-Choice Examination

Once  approved for the Blair Student Certification process, the applicant will be notified by the Director of Certification and Instruction and sent a link to complete a multiple-choice examination covering the following Blair concepts and theories:

  • Blair’s description of atlanto-occipital articular misalignment including the definitions of the Track and Slip/Slide sides.
  • Single sided C1 and C2 misalignment listings and contact points
  • Definitions: Articular Underlap, Articular Overlap, Slope Angle, Convexity Angle, and Convergence Angle
  • Modified Prill Leg Check procedures
  • Main objectives of each of the Blair Imaging views (APOM, BP, Right and Left Protractos, Right and Left Lateral Cervical)
  • Steps involved in C1 and C2 Single sided adjustments: C1 ASL(LTC), C1 ASR(RTC), C1 PIR(RTC,RAC). C1 PIL(LTC,LAC), C2 ARS, C2 ALS, C2 PRI, C2PLI. This includes: Stance, Contact point, Contact hand, Angle needed for adjustment, and description of the corrective movement.

Blair Student Certification Practical Examination via video:

The Applicant will record and submit 4 videos in  MP4, WMV, or similar format via Google drive or Dropbox, demonstrating:

1.     C1(ASL-LTC or ASR-RTC)

2.     C1(PIL-LTC or PIR-RTC)

3.     C2 (ALS-LLC or ARS-RLC)

4.     C2 (PLI-RLC or PRI-LLC).

The applicant will record each video with clear video and audio verbally and physically demonstrating each of the 4 adjustments. The 4 videos will be sent to 2 Certified Blair Instructors for grading.

Passing Blair Student Certification

  1. Each section of the certification process is considered passed if the applicant scores 70% correct from each of the two instructors. A “passing” mark must be earned for both the multiple-choice examination and the practical examination via video.
  2. Following successful completion of all portions of the Blair Student Certification process, the results will be forwarded to the Director of Certification and Instruction.
  3. The Blair Student Certificate will be awarded at the next Annual Blair Conference or mailed to the student in the event he/she cannot attend the conference.

The next step in Certification

  1. Once the student has graduated, is licensed, and enters clinical practice, they will be able to test for Level 1 Blair Certification after 1 year of Full-time clinical practice experience.
